Hi,

I'm considering installing MySQL in my home directory because I'd like more control over my databases and my username leaves me with only 4 characters to name each database.

If I install MySQL into my home directory can I configure my control panel to let me create and manage databases? I've grown quite fond of the WebFaction control panel.

No, sorry - if you run your own MySQL, you won't be able to use our control panel to manage your DBs.

You could, however, set up your own phpMyAdmin instance to do this instead :)

Ah, never though to do that. Thanks.
