I am having a lot of trouble with this and am wondering if anyone who has experience with this could be so kind as to do a write up on how.

I am setting up Django per Webfaction's tutorial, with the django app + static + static_admin symlink setup.

I want to be able to have a production and development environment where files I work on are committed to trunk and trunk represents development environment, and files in tags/1.0 which are merged from trunk to represent my production environment.

I'm at a complete loss as to how best do this.

Thanks in advance if you can help!

You would set up a post-commit hook with a script set up to do what you want exactly. We have docs that outline the basics of a post-commit hook and provide the demo code for sending an e-mail,

http://docs.webfaction.com/software/subversion.html#send-email-notifications-with-a-post-commit-hook

You would have to modify the code to check out the files to the paths you would want for the live code.
