I have configured

*.url.com
something.url.com

Does the wildcard over-write the specific subdomain? this seems to be the case from my account.

*.url.com and something.url.com do conflict with each other. You should not be using wildcard and non-wildcard subdomains together - this kind of configuration won't work as expected.

Explicitly create all subdomains that you are going to use. If need be, you can automate this kind of creation by using the WebFaction API: http://docs.webfaction.com/xmlrpc-api/

OK, I deactivate the *.url.com

But just then I noticed that they can co-exist if the specific is a CNAME redirect

feedback.url.com External (Cname)
