Hi, I want to update drupal modules in my drupal installation.

Using update in the admin webinterface gives an error 110 (timeout) Using "drush up" doesn't do anything.

To find the cause I tried [xxx@web198 modules]$ wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/xmlsitemap-7.x-2.0-beta3.tar.gz This gives me a timeout. It seems no problem to wget files from other websites to the webfactional webserver. I can download http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/xmlsitemap-7.x-2.0-beta3.tar.gz to my home computer which is really fast.

So why can't I download files from ftp.drupal.org to web198?

Thanks, Gerd

http://ftp.drupal.org is currently inaccessible from some of our servers. I can only assume that this is due to some routing problems at the provider that is hosting http://ftp.drupal.org as the traceroute dies about 20 hops away from our network, at "corv-car1-gw.nero.net"

You don't need to run mtr now since the problem appears to have been solved:
