I see that the new pricing page says that 80MB is like 256MB, while the old one says 180. Is it possible to move the account to a new server and take advantage of that (unless I misunderstood it). Also, if a move is possible, could it be moved to a Europe-based server?

Yes it is possible to migrate to another server. Yes, that server can be in the new data center in Europe.

Here are our docs around migrating. http://docs.webfaction.com/user-guide/moving.html?highlight=migrate#migrating-servers

Hm, these instructions seem to imply that I need to purchase another account prior to the migration? I don't need two machines, I'd just like to move the current one.

Perhaps it's possible to have two machines for, say, a month, with my remaining balance reducing doubly that month, after which the old one could be closed and I continue with the new one until the balance runs out? If so, how can that be set up?

If you want to move to an web173+ server, please submit a ticket and we will open a new plan on the new server, either a US based or a European based one, and give you free credit for one week.

You will then need to move your sites according to http://docs.webfaction.com/user-guide/moving.html.

During this time, your existing account on the old server will continue being billed as normally.

After you finished moving, reply to your ticket to have your old server removed from your account. Please note that all of your data on the old server will be permanently deleted.
