Hi, I'm new to web faction and having some problems setting up a site on a new domain. I have added a new domain in the control panel (cybaria.net) and added a site on the websites list. Domain/sites are linked together correctly I beleive. The problem is, when you go to the website http://cybaria.net the content is loading from the default domain/website ie. username.webfactional.com I have logged into ftp and added content for the new site under the cybaria domain and am a little stuck as to what i'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance! asked 11 Aug '11, 05:11 Samminoli |
Hello and welcome in WebFaction, You've have set everything up correctly, but I don't see any content in your webapps/htdocs folder other that the default page for static apps. I also don't see any misplaced files anywhere in your home. Could you try uploading your content again with ftp or sftp? This guide can help you do that http://docs.webfaction.com/user-guide/access.html?highlight=ftp#connecting-with-ftp answered 11 Aug '11, 05:17 iliasr ♦♦ In adding the new domain on our domains list, I thought this created a new folder (cybaria) on the server to add files with ftp. This is where i've added the site content. Is there no way to use this instead of the default username one?

You can use your secondary user cybaria, to upload content in a specific folder (~/webapps/htdocs for instance) in your samminoli account, using his credentials, if you follow this guide to enable access to secondary users. http://docs.webfaction.com/software/general.html?highlight=granting#granting-access-to-specific-users If you need any assistance with that, please open a ticket.
