Warning: Found more than one ImageMagick installation. This could cause problems at runtime. /usr/bin/Magick-config reports version 6.2.8 is installed in /usr /home/bpm/bin/Magick-config reports version 6.6.5 Q16 is installed in /home/bpm Using 6.2.8 from /usr.

checking for ImageMagick version >= 6.4.9... no Can't install RMagick 2.13.1. You must have ImageMagick 6.4.9 or later.

So, how to specify that it should use my fresh install of ImageMagick? I was following along with this: http://docs.webfaction.com/software/rails.html

If you set your PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH as mentioned in steps 2 and 3 of our Rmagick instructions, then the installation should work.

Also, once it's installed, you will need to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH in your Nginx environment to ensure that your app will locate your libraries:

In /home/your_username/webapps/rails/bin/start, change this ...

GEM_HOME=/home/your_username/webapps/rails/gems /home/your_username/webapps/rails/nginx/sbin/nginx -p /home/your_username/webapps/rails/nginx/

... to this ...

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/your_username/lib:/home/your_username/webapps/rails/gems/gems/rmagick-X.YY.Z/lib GEM_HOME=/home/your_username/webapps/rails/gems /home/your_username/webapps/rails/nginx/sbin/nginx -p /home/your_username/webapps/rails/nginx/

(all of that should be on one line)

In /home/your_username/webapps/rails/nginx/conf/nginx.conf, add the following line at the beginning of the file:

env LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/your_username/lib:/home/your_username/webapps/rails/gems/gems/rmagick-X.YY.Z/lib

Change 'your_username', 'rails', and 'X.YY.Z' to your account username, your app name, and your rmagick version.

Restart your nginx after making the changes.
