WebFaction
Community site: login faq

Hi. Since the login at https://webmail.webfaction.com is by using a mailbox name and not a username@domain address, could it happen that I receive some kind of "that mailbox name is already used" error?

I mean, if I declare a "mymailbox" mailbox name, do I render it unusable for the rest of the webfaction email service users?

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes, mailbox names are unique across all WebFaction accounts. We encourage users to prefix mailbox names with their account username, followed by an underscore. This is not a hard restriction, but the mailbox name field when creating a new mailbox is prepopulated with this prefix.

So, for example, if you are trying to create a mailbox named "superman", you won't be able to as someone else thought of this before you!
