I want to install the latest Drupal. What's the difference between using your installer (selecting app type "Drupal (7.7)" and manually installing Drupal myself (by choosing app type "Static/CGI/PHP-5.3")? The latest Drupal is 7.9 as of this writing. I'd rather have the latest version but I'm wondering what if anything I'd be giving up by installing manually. In other words what are the pros/cons. Does choosing your Drupal installer do anything "special" besides creating the web files and database? asked 25 Nov '11, 03:02 user |
Hi, There is no difference - you can use whichever option you prefer. The installer takes care of downloading the installation files and installing it for you. It's up to you whether you want to use the installer, or do it on your own. answered 25 Nov '11, 04:28 todork |
