Hi all,

I wonder if it is possible to use py-wkhtmltox on Webfaction. I have already found this thread: http://forum.webfaction.com/viewtopic.php?pid=19123 which explains how to install qt and wkhtmltopdf

Now the README of py-kwhtmltox (https://github.com/mreiferson/py-wkhtmltox) says the following:

Pre-requisites on all platforms:

  • you need libwkhtmltox.* somewhere in your LD path (/usr/local/lib)
  • you need the directory src/include/wkhtmltox from wkhtmltopdf somewhere on your include path (/usr/local/include)

Do I have any chance to meet these requirements?

Hi,

You can define both the library and the include path using environment variables:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH
and
LD_INCLUDE_PATH or C_INCLUDE_PATH

So, you can use these, for example :

 export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$HOME/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
to download libwkhtmltox.so.* to your home directory and the directory for inclusion too.

You would also need to add the export commands to your ~/.bashrc file to maintain persistence between sessions.
