I'm putting a log file generated by my own cron job in ~/logs/user, but it doesn't seem to get automatically rotated like the app logs in there. Does rotation only happen on logs that are generated by installed apps? Is there something that can be done so that my cron job log can be automatically rotated by the system? Thanks. asked 10 Jan '12, 12:42 jomifo |
Any user created log files in ~/logs/user will be rotated daily. You can find our documentation on logs here http://docs.webfaction.com/software/general.html#accessing-logs If you would like us to take a closer look at the issue, please open a support ticket. https://help.webfaction.com/ answered 10 Jan '12, 14:02 bmeyer71 ♦♦ This doesn't seem to be true. I put a file "testing_log_rotation.log" in logs/user on my account, and it doesn't get rotated. The access and error logs in the same dir are rotated every day.
