Hi, I was trying to use sqlalchemy on webfaction and I get this error sqlalchemy.exc.OperationalError: (OperationalError) FATAL: no pg_hba.conf entry for host "127.0.0.1", user " so I know that I don't have permission to change this conf, then I get this tutorial http://community.webfaction.com/questions/3241/how-to-get-access-to-postgresql-contrib-modules and it fails to compile. I tried many versions and the same error guc.c:1380: error: expected expression before ‘,’ token

following the docs http://docs.webfaction.com/user-guide/databases.html#accessing-a-database-from-a-script-or-application doesn't exist psycopg2 and can't easy_install it due to pg_config executable missing, does webfaction really support pyramid + sqlalchemy or does even any python script be enable to connect and use postgresql?

Hi,

The "no pg_hba.conf entry" suggest that your app is not configured properly with the correct username and password. Make sure you've set these up correctly - the username is the same as your database name (not your control panel user), and the password is your database password.

If fixing this doesn't resolve the problem, please open a ticket so we can take a look at this in more detail.

postgresql://myuser:mypassword@localhost:5432/mydb.db

I did a test:

I can connect with psql -U mydb.db, so "mypassword" is right

ok, I will open a ticket, thanks.

Fixed* the problem was the panel create the database without .db extension and the username is the same name of the database.
