I've got a Django app on web213 and I'm trying to understand how to evaluate the performance of that app. I ran uptime to see what the load averages look like for our app, and I got the following results:

 16:14:34 up 6 days, 12:35, 1 user, load average: 1.28, 1.59, 1.61

How should I interpret this result, in the context of a webfaction account? Grepping for "model name" in /proc/cpuinfo seems to indicate that it's a 16-core machine. How do you evaluate your load averages (in my case 1.6) in the context of your webfaction environment (in this case 16-cores)?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Uptime calculates the uptime of the server itself, not your application.

It also only calculates load for the entire server, it is not a statistic you have to monitor or worry about as its our duty to maintain the server.

If you want to see details for your apps you should run htop,

htop -u <yourusername>

Replace <yourusername> with your username.
