Okay, this is probably me not knowing anything about anything, but I'm trying to set up the Django bootstrap (for Twitter) using

pip install -e git+git://github.com/earle/django-bootstrap.git#egg=bootstrap

and getting the response

-bash: pip: command not found

Should pip work if I ssh into my Webfaction webapps folder? Am I doing something stupid or wrong?

pip by default is not installed so you can install it for the python version you want.

Install it like this,

easy_install-2.7 pip

Where 2.7 is whatever version of python you are using. If easy_install complains about missing directories just create them with mkdir.

Cool, thanks. If it complains about the missing directories, will creating them after the fact resolve any issues, or do I create them and run easy_install again? This probably seems like a goofy question, but I don't want to blow up my site.

The directories should exist before running the command, so if it complains, create them and re-run them. We have extensive python documentation, including how to install packages, here.
