I am using django on webfaction. I added an email address that directs to an existing mailbox. I added the following details to settings.py:

EMAIL_HOST = 'smtp.webfaction.com'
EMAIL_HOST_USER = 'notifications_moager'
EMAIL_HOST_PASSWORD = '*********'
DEFAULT_FROM_EMAIL = 'notifications@moager.etafra.com'
SERVER_EMAIL = 'notifications@moager.etafra.com'

and in myproject/myapp/management/commands/mycommand.py, I wrote the following code:

import ...
class Command(BaseCommand):

    def handle(self, *args, **options):
        from django.core.mail import send_mail
        send_mail('subject', 'a message body', 'notifications@moager.etafra.com', ['valid_email'], )

When I run command from terminal, it finishes silently with no errors and no output as well!! i.e. no mail is sent
