Hi,

I need to install Webhelpdesk, but the script is downloadable only in rpm or debian package. It install a tomcat server on port 8081 and the app developed in java, in /usr/local/webhelpdesk/

Now I ask: it work in webfaction? and how can I to set the webapp in control panel for a domain? I hope that someone more expert help me.

Hi,

This should be possible, although you will need to work with the RPM slightly differently to the vendor's documentation.

First, get Tomcat installed on your account using the following tutorial: http://community.webfaction.com/questions/4116/install-tomcat-howto-or-step-by-step-tutorial

Then you will need to extract the contents of the RPM which you can then move into your Tomcat instance's webroot. You can find instructions for that here: http://community.webfaction.com/questions/4151/large-file-upload-via-ftp
