Curious as to why we need to run serious scripting language to back up a database when other hosting providers do this automagically.

We backup your databases automatically also, and keep a 10-day history of backups. However, we're not able to guarantee the availability and integrity of our backups, so we provide manual backup instructions for customers who are interested in keeping their irreplaceable data safe.
