Just now (8:30am EDT Aug 02), I got a couple dozen messages from what are mostly daily cron jobs that were actually run over the course of July.

When I inspect the Received headers, it seems that web5 just spit out mail it had queued up for weeks.

For instance:

Received: from web5.webfaction.com (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]
        by web5.webfaction.com (8.13.1/8.13.1) with ESMTP id q72BXJO3022044
        for berendes@netalyst.com; Thu, 2 Aug 2012 06:34:12 -0500
Received: (from netalyst@localhost)
        by web5.webfaction.com (8.13.1/8.13.1/Submit) id q6KIFnV4030730
        for berendes@netalyst.com; Fri, 20 Jul 2012 13:15:49 -0500

Note the slip from 20 Jul in the second line to 2 Aug in the first.

I assume that this is a problem with the web5 smtp server, rather than my cron files. I put it here in case anyone else ran into a similar problem.

Hi,

There was a problem with Web5's sendmail service indeed, but it was fixed earlier today. Sorry for the inconvenience! It should start working properly now.
